(More customer reviews)I was a little bit leery of buying one of these big bundles of things from Amazon because I thought it was someone trying to dump their second rate products (e.g., an off-brand extra battery that doesn't hold a charge, a non-HD memory card, etc.) But this was the perfect starter set for my first DSLR camera purchase. It came with just about everything you need, and the items weren't just crappy leftovers. The battery that comes with the camera has been going strong for weeks of use, and even the spare (off-brand) battery (which I may never need at this rate) is still holding its original charge. The card reader is really handy and works great. The camera itself is nice as a first DSLR.
However, I do recommend you purchase a decent UV filter from Canon, mainly to protect the lens. It's much better to replace a 16 dollar scratched filter than get a whole new lens, and the kit doesn't come with one.
