(More customer reviews)I was thrilled to receive my Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip today. It appears to be a superb product, and really seems to balance out my Canon EOS T1i (500D).
The only true complaint on this item is that the battery description is deceptive. The advertisement references "2 spare LP-E5 batteries". The LP-E5 battery is a CANON product, and LP-E5 is a CANON catalog number. What I received with this kit was 2 - Power2000 ACD-289 batteries, which the packaging says is a "replacement for Canon LP-E5". These batteries can be had for $6.02 (+ $2.98 shipping) each. Had I known this, I would have bought the Grip by itself, and either purchased authentic Canon batteries, or saved the money, and bought the $6.02 batteries. My main reason for selecting THIS "kit" was because it was a good deal, had it included Canon batteries. I'm not saying that these are poor batteries. To be honest, I have not had time to make a decision on them. I just feel that the description should have made it more clear that this is an aftermarket battery, and not a genuine Canon product, as the advertisement implies.
